Deemed one of the leading spots to purchase or rent a vacation home, the area has a retreat-like feel. Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Wisconsin’s storied history and dynamic present are underscored by the smattering of eateries found throughout Powers & Twin Lakes. Wilmot Stage Stop is a testament to the former. Built in 1848, this charming restaurant is believed to be the oldest cafe and taproom in the Dairy State. It’s been beautifully maintained over the last 175 years but retains its historical charm. Here, you can kick off a leisurely dinner with cream of lobster soup, dive into a charcoal-broiled filet mignon, and top it off with an old-fashioned butterscotch sundae.

Speaking of sundaes, Hansen’s Ice Cream Parlor in Twin Lakes is another local favorite. Depending on the season, you’ll find everything from blueberry cheesecake ice cream to watermelon sherbert.

Bodi’s Bake Shop is a destination unto itself. Whether you’re in the mood for an Irish Benedict or potato pancakes, this venue delivers a bevy of delicious dishes. Sand Bar and Island Grill is also terrific for lunch or happy hour. The buzzy waterfront venue specializes in tropical libations and delectable seafood.

Things to Do

No matter the time of year, Powers & Twin Lakes’ picturesque beauty inspires its residents and visitors to step outside. Its lakes and the slew of fun ways to enjoy them are, arguably, the biggest draw for residents and visitors.

You can also savor Wisconsin’s warmer months at the Twin Lakes Country Club, a refined, family-owned club with a wonderful genteel feel. Founded in 1912, it features a challenging course and a red barn-turned-clubhouse that’s ideal for weddings and other celebrations.

People from around the Midwest often flock to this region for its excellent selection of festivities and celebrations. Septemberfest, a spin on the internationally beloved Oktoberfest, is the perfect way to greet autumn at the Twin Lakes Country Club. Residents can find ice-cold beers, yodeling contests, hayrides, live music, and stein-holding contests at this vibrant community fair.

Country Thunder is another highly-anticipated annual event, with its impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed country musicians, great sense of camaraderie, and the wonderful opportunities for camping and glamping.
